Help my mother Marilu Diaz Viera Fight Breast Cancer Again
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,
My name is Brian, and I’m reaching out during one of the hardest times for our family. My mother, Marilu, is once again facing a heartbreaking battle. Her breast cancer has returned, more than a decade after she first beat it.
My mom is a strong, hardworking woman who has touched many lives with her kindness. If you live in Sitka, you may know her as the woman who makes the delicious homemade pies at The Nugget Restaurant side by side with my father Angel the chef. She’s been quietly making people’s days a little sweeter, even as she’s dealt with unimaginable pain.
But now, she needs help.
We are trying to raise $5,000 to get her seen immediately by a specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Costs are unknown at the moment but the first time she fought cancer over a decade ago surgery and treatment was around $80,000 I’m sure it is a lot more today. As of right now, time is critical cancer doesn’t wait, and every day without treatment is a day the disease can grow stronger. The sooner she is seen, the better her chances of survival and recovery.
It’s not easy to ask for help, but we are doing so out of love and desperation. If you can donate any amount, even a few dollars, it will bring us closer to saving her life. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this message with your community. Every act of kindness matters.
Thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and your prayers.
With great gratitude,
Brian Diaz
