Hi, my name is Josipa, and I’m fundraising for my mom, Marija Kovač.

Our mom has always been the strongest person I know — not because life was easy, but because she faced everything with faith, kindness, and love.

In early 2025, her world changed when she was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer (SCLC) — an aggressive and fast-spreading form of cancer. Since then, she has gone through months of chemotherapy, hospital stays, and long days of exhaustion and weakness.

Her condition has become more fragile, and she’s now on a new round of chemotherapy. We’re hoping this treatment gives her more time — time to rest, to heal, and to feel surrounded by love and care.

Because of her illness, she is unable to work and often spends her days alone between hospital visits. The daily costs of medications, therapy transportation, home care, and basic living expenses have become overwhelming.

My biggest wish is to make her life a little easier — to lift the financial stress from her shoulders and help her focus on what truly matters: healing, comfort, and peace.

Her greatest source of strength has always been her grandchildren — they give her hope and the will to keep fighting. Our dream is for her to be able to see them again soon, whether that means traveling to Canada when she’s strong enough, or us going to Croatia to spend precious time together.

Either way, every donation goes toward her needs, her medical care, and her comfort during this difficult journey.
