Help Mariem El-Kady Represent Egypt at the Wolfram High School Summer Research Program
Mariem - "
Hi everyone!
My name is Mariem El-Kady, a Grade 11 student at Alexandria STEM School. I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected to attend the Wolfram High School Summer Research Program at Bentley College, Boston, this summer! This prestigious program only accepts 60 students worldwide annually, and I am proud to be the first Egyptian participant since its inception in 2012.
Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to represent Egypt at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Los Angeles, California. This experience ignited my passion for technology and programming, driving me to pursue advanced studies in these fields. The Wolfram program is a unique chance to deepen my knowledge and skills, and I’m determined to make the most of it.
I have secured a scholarship and an external travel grant covering my full tuition and part of my airfare, totaling around $5000. However, I still need assistance to cover the remaining expenses, including the visa fee ($185) and additional airfare costs ($200), which total approximately $385.
This GoFundMe campaign is organized by my friend Slsabil Hassan, a student at Washington and Lee University.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will bring me one step closer to achieving my dreams and representing Egypt on a global stage. Thank you for your generosity and support in helping me embark on this transformative journey!"
