Help Loki Fight for His Life – Support My Mom and Her Sweet Pup
Hi, my name is Stephanie, and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my mom Marie and her beloved dog, Loki. Loki is more than just a pet—he's her world, her constant companion, and the heart of our family.
Loki is almost 7 years old, and he’s been critically ill and hospitalized since Thursday, June 19th. He's battling a severe illness affecting his liver, and the past few days have taken an overwhelming emotional and financial toll on my mom, who lives on Social Security Disability.
Loki isn’t just any dog. He’s always been full of personality—talkative, affectionate, and silly. He loves his hugs and kisses, and he lights up when you blow raspberries on his cheeks or tummy. He used to greet the mailman with excitement and would “talk” to my mom every night when it was time for bed. He’d stand in front of her, nudging her to go get comfy, like a little bedtime routine only they shared.
But lately, when Loki wasn't acting like himself, my mom knew something was terribly wrong. He’s been lethargic, out of it, and distant. He doesn’t smile like he used to. He’s stopped talking to my mom at bedtime. When she saw the spark fade from his eyes, she knew something was terribly wrong.
At first, we had a glimmer of hope—his bilirubin levels, which had spiked to dangerous highs (14, then 15), came down to 3 with medication. But despite this, he still refuses to eat, even with appetite stimulants, and that’s deeply worrying. Today, after a follow-up vet visit, he began turning yellow again in his eyes and mouth. He’s now back in the hospital, and we’re facing the next round of tests, including a biopsy, as his condition worsens.
Loki is being treated at Green Acres Veterinary Center and Harris Hill, under the care of multiple specialists. The bills are piling up—over $9,000 so far—and it’s only going to get more expensive.
My mom is the kind of person who always gives. Whether it’s for someone’s pet, a stranger’s emergency, or any cause, she never hesitates to help—even when she has very little herself. Now, it’s her turn to receive that kindness back.
This fundraiser isn’t just about Loki—it’s about my mom, and about not letting finances determine whether or not her best friend gets a chance. Loki means everything to her, and I know she would live in a cardboard box if it meant saving him. Please help me help her give Loki the best possible chance.
Every dollar helps, and even if you can’t donate, a share or a kind word means the world.
Thank you so much for reading, caring, and supporting our family in this heartbreaking time. ❤️
