Marie and Jim Byers have been members of the Crieve Hall neighborhood for 50 years. After enduring a week without power during the January 2026 ice storm in Nashville, they were looking forward to returning home from a hotel stay. Tragically, as soon as power was restored, their home was suddenly engulfed in flames. The fire spread so quickly that nearly everything was lost within minutes, despite the immediate response from the local fire department. The cause of the fire remains unknown, adding to the heartbreak and uncertainty Marie and Jim now face.
Crieve Hall is a community of folks who show up for each other, and now it's our time to show up for Marie and Jim! With the help of a generous builder, their home will be rebuilt at cost, but the road ahead is still long. They need to find temporary housing and begin the overwhelming process of replacing all of their belongings. The funds raised will help cover these immediate needs and provide support as they work to rebuild their lives and their home of five decades.
We, their neighbors, are coming together to support Marie and Jim during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference as they recover from this tragedy. Please join us in helping them rebuild their home and comfort them during this time.
