My name is Linda Rivera and I am trying to raise money for my mother and aunt. They will need help after a significant house fire.

My mom, Marie, was awakened by the fire on Tuesday, November 18th. She was able to escape the home, but she sustained burns to her right arm, back, and face. Jackie, my aunt, was not at home at the time. Their cat “Smokey” did not survive the fire. Marie is currently hospitalized and will require skin grafts for her burns.

The home is historical (built in the early 1900s) and was left to my mother and her sisters by my grandfather. This home has belonged to my family since the 80s. As of now, we don’t know if we will tear down and build a new house, or if we will try to repair what is left of the house.

The majority of their belongings are either damaged or destroyed because of this fire and they are starting over, essentially. Unfortunately, there was no homeowner’s insurance on the house. We are grateful to whatever help we receive.
