Neighbors, my name is Maricruz. I was raised in Minnesota and have dedicated my life to serving the Twin Cities community as a youth organizer and educator. I currently work at a nonprofit in St. Paul, and I've always believed in showing up for my people, especially in moments of crisis.

It is incredibly difficult for me to make this request. I am used to being the one who gives help, not asks for it. But because of the violent and escalating federal immigration enforcement taking place in our city, my family has been deeply impacted. My sister and I are now the sole financial support for my father, uncle, and younger brother. In January, I paid their rent and essential bills out of pocket to keep them safe and housed, but continuing to do so on my single salary is just not possible.

I am asking for community support to raise funds to cover rent, groceries, phone bills, and other basic necessities. Any support, financial, or by sharing this request, would mean safety and breathing room for my family during this incredibly difficult time.
