Our very dear Maricar Salazar Galsim is only 43 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. For those who know her, you know she is an extraordinary human being. She is cheerful, loving and unbelievably strong person. She always put her family and friends before herself.
Maricar is one of the strongest, most selfless people we’ve ever known. She is always there to support and would give the shirt off her back to anyone that needs it.
On November 18th, she underwent brain surgery to remove the tumor. With further testing, cancerous cells were detected and the doctors has informed Maricar and her family that it has metastasized and is now a stage four lung cancer. However, the surgery resulted to paralysis on her left arm and leg. She will soon start her rehabilitation therapy followed by radiation and months of chemotherapy.
Because of this, she has been unable to work and will likely not able to return anytime soon. Her husband, Jesse is also unable to work as he takes care of her full time.
