Help Marianne after suffering a stroke

UPDATE - 9/8/2022

Hi all. Mom is home and is doing well but still has very limited mobility and is unable to work. We have applied for disability but have not yet been approved - even if/when she does get approved, we anticipate that she may not see any money from disability for many months. We are kindly asking our friends and family for any support that you can offer us during this tough time so that Mom can continue to pay her bills, mortgage, etc, and so she can continue to maintain her quality of life during this time until disability kicks in. Instead of creating a new page I decided to repurpose this one - that being said, the amount we are seeking is roughly the same amount - $25K which accounts for about 6 months worth of bill payments (not including the cost of food). I have updated the goal of the GoFundMe to reflect this. Please donate what you can, and share to people you know, we could really use the help at this time.

As always please feel free to reach out to me at [phone redacted] if you have any questions or would like to talk. Thank you.

Hi everyone, my name is Nick Ciccantelli. On January 3rd, 2022, my mom, Marianne Ciccantelli, suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on the right side of her brain. She was admitted to Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie to the ICU, and eventually transitioned to Northern Dutchess Hospital (where she is currently located) for her inpatient physical therapy. Her discharge date at this time is not confirmed - we are hoping it will be in the next few weeks, however, we anticipate that her road to full recovery will be quite long - looking at about a year of continued therapy in some fashion. During this time, it is incredibly unlikely that she will be able to work at all, as the left side of her body is significantly impacted in terms of functionality.

This GoFundMe is being set up to address a loss of income, and is budgeted to look forward 6 months into the future anticipating loss of income during that time. Any money donated to this fundraiser will be used for her monthly bills - mortgage, loans, cell phone, credit cards, etc. Her stay at Northern Dutchess is fully covered by her insurance, and at this time we do not know what the financial impact of her stay at Vassar Brothers will be (or if there will be a financial impact at all). We will be applying for disability support as well, but that is still in progress. Your support will help lift a major burden off of our family, and will help us focus on what is important right now - getting my mom back to full health and strength so that she can continue to be the independent woman she has always been.

Please only give what you can - we understand that everyone is impacted during these times and, if you know our family, you know that it's not easy for us to to be asking for help in the manner. That being said, no one person is an island and it takes a village sometimes to support those that are most important to us.

If you have any more detailed questions about what your donations will be covering, if you want to visit mom, or just want to touch base, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [phone redacted]. Additionally, I have been providing periodic updates on a site called Caring Bridge, which you can find the link to below.

Thank you all for your continued support - please keep my mom in your prayers.

-Nick
