Help Mariana recover from a spinal cord injury
Donation protected
- Mariana Salazar, daughter of our dear friends Gelasio Salazar and Paty Ramirez, was in a terrible accident on July 15, 2021 while visiting Cancun. She suffered a serious spinal cord injury that required immediate surgery and intensive care. She is currently experiencing loss of movement and sensation in most of her body. In order to continue her treatment and start intensive therapy for her rehabilitation, she needed emergency transportation in a medical flight to Mexico City. Mariana is only 21 years old and was expected to graduate from college with a major in commerce and international business next year. Her parents and 3 siblings are mortified and the expenses are quickly accumulating. The transportation cost from Cancun to Mexico City was close to $17,500 US dollars, without including current and future medical expenses. A big part of the recent payments were covered through various loans. Unfortunately, the medical insurance will not cover any further expenses, as the maximum insured amount has been reached. We hope you can support Gelasio and Paty in covering these expenses so that they are able to provide the care and treatment that their beloved Mariana requires in these difficult times. Any donations are wholeheartedly appreciated and will go to Mariana’s parents. (Please note that donations are in US dollars.)
