Hello, my name is Mariana Villasmil, and I’m humbly asking for your support during one of the most difficult health journeys of my life.

Earlier this year, I had to undergo emergency surgery for ovarian torsion, and two days later I developed acute pancreatitis, which caused a series of complications that I am still fighting through. Since then, I have been living with severe chronic abdominal pain. The pain has been debilitating and affects my ability to work and live a normal daily life.

Gastroparesis and visceral hypersensitivity are part of the complications that I have been facing since my emergency surgery. These conditions have significantly worsened my pain levels and continue to impact my overall health.

After months of seeking help locally and many unanswered questions, I was referred to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where specialists are now evaluating me for chronic pain syndrome and visceral hypersensitivity. I’ve already undergone multiple tests.

My next crucial step is attending the Mayo Clinic Pain Management Rehabilitation Center, where a specialized team will evaluate and build a comprehensive plan to manage my chronic pain syndrome, gastroparesis-related issues, and overall quality of life.

Unfortunately, the travel and treatment costs are becoming overwhelming. I am raising funds to help cover:

• Travel to Arizona to receive treatment.

• Lodging and transportation during my treatment.

• Tests and follow-up appointments.

• Lost income while I travel for treatment.

This journey has been physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting. Asking for help is not easy, but I truly need support to continue receiving the care that can give me back my quality of life.
