Help Mariam Ayad Pay Rent and Avoid Being Evicted

Hello, my name is Elizabeth and I am helping out with fundraising for Mariam and her four children. If they do not raise $5,000 before the end of October 2022, they will be evicted from their home with nowhere to live. This money not only would allow them to continue to stay where they are living, it will protect against the possibility of the family being separated due to homelessness.

She is a single mother with an abusive partner, now out of the picture, whose child support payment is not currently enough to cover the needs of the children and rent. She stays home with the children because she cannot afford child care, and has been unable to obtain a job with "mother's hours" in her area for the window of time the children are in school (despite wanting a job and applying for any openings she could find).

Mariam is only 29 years old, and came from Egypt with her then-husband in 2019. Her husband left after she got pregnant, and despite the challenges, she has always been a devoted mother. Her dream is to have a home of her own someday, and she wants to improve her English and go to school to get her license for hairdressing (something she did and enjoyed in Egypt).

Mohrael is eight years old, loves doing well in school, and is a responsible big sister who enjoys helping her mother.

Mayven is seven years old and is a little shy, but also loves playing dress-up.

Magi is five years old, with a powerhouse personality and delights in talking to new people.

Bishoi is only two years old, loves to play and looks up to all of his sisters. He had some medical issues earlier in his life, but going to daycare really helped him make progress.

All of this money will go directly towards paying four months of back rent to her landlord, who has already served an eviction notice. We are hoping that this will stabilize their situation until they are able to obtain other sources of support and help.
