Help Mariam and her family in Gaza

Hello,

My name is Olivia, I'm Swiss, and I created this fundraiser to support my friend Mariam Salah who currently lives in Gaza with her family. We met at one of the art school in Gaza city, while I was working there for two years. Her art and spirit are both daring and powerful. She owned an art gallery and was showcasing her art and of other local artists to offer creative spaces in Gaza.

The war started, her house and gallery in Gaza city were destroyed. Mariam and her family, her parents and brother, had to displace to the South of the strip. After more than 6 months of pain and violence, Mariam and her family have decided to leave Gaza, which won't be possible without additional lifesaving support.

Mariam wrote about her story in own words, here below.

I'm Mariam. I used to work as an artist in Gaza before the war started. I was active in many fields, as a children’s activator, a doll and mask maker, a costume designer in a theater in Gaza, an art teacher, and a paper-making workshop teacher...among many others.

Now, I cannot make a living after 6 months of war, and I do not feel safe after the destruction of my home and of my country. I almost lost everything, including my paintings and sketches. I need to leave Gaza with my family, my greatest moral support, so that we can continue our lives in safety and re start our lives again.
