Hi Friends,
As most of you know, my wife, Paula "Mariah" Kosters, has been battling cancer for several years now. She had half her left lung removed, and we were hopeful that she was in remission.
Unfortunately, she has recently had episodes of weakness on her left side and has trouble walking and using her left arm. We rushed her to a neurologist (thinking she had a mild stroke) and had MRIs and blood work done. After reviewing the scans, the neurologist advised us to immediately consult with Dr. Salazar, a superb neurosurgeon in Queretaro, Mexico. Turns out that even after pulmonary surgery, the cancer has grown and is now metastasized to her brain, where she has a large tumor growing. We rushed her to the Phoenix branch of the Mayo Clinic, where she was admitted last night.
Long story short, cancer treatment is EXPENSIVE! By way of example, the drug she was on for over 2 years, Tagrisso, cost $17,000 per month—that's almost $600 per day for a single pill! Our financial resources have been decimated and we are asking our friends for a contribution—any amount... to help defray our costs.
We understand your finances are limited, and we appreciate any donation that you can afford to make. Regardless, please keep this lovely woman in your prayers and send her your good vibes!
Thanks all for your understanding and continued support. You are all good friends. We feel your outpouring of love, and prayers and it means so much to us!
Bye for now...
Lee Pappernow (Mariah's Husband)
