A Young Life Suddenly Changed
Hello everyone, I am writing this on behalf of my niece, Mariah Lewis and my sister, Tuesday Cochran. Mariah is only 21 years old. She's a bright, determined junior at Western Kentucky University with her whole life ahead of her. Just last week, our family received devastating news that has shaken us to our core: Mariah has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her liver and pelvic region.
This isn't something that's supposed to happen to someone so young. But here we are, and we're asking for your help.
The Battle Ahead
This Friday, Mariah is scheduled to have surgery to remove a tumor from her pelvic area. The tumor is comparable in size to a large cantaloupe. Three weeks after that, she'll begin an aggressive and extensive chemotherapy regimen along with targeted medications. This will be a long, exhausting fight, but Mariah is ready to face it with courage.
A Mother's Unwavering Love
Mariah's mom, Tuesday, is one of the strongest women I know. As an expanded duty dental assistant and mother of seven children, she's always been a pillar of strength for her family. She's even been pursuing her phlebotomy certification and is set to graduate this weekend, a milestone now overshadowed by her daughter's diagnosis.
Tuesday has made the heart-wrenching but necessary decision to be by Mariah's side for every appointment, every treatment, every difficult moment. But each day she's away from work means lost income for a family that's already stretched thin.
Why We Need Your Help
When Mariah returned home from her apartment, she came back without the basics she needs for recovery and treatment and thus needs the following:
• A bed to rest and heal in
• Comfortable sheets and bedding
• A lamp for late-night needs
• A nightstand for medications and water
Beyond these immediate needs, the financial burden is overwhelming:
• Medical bills and treatments
• Lost wages as Tuesday supports Mariah through appointments
• Daily expenses for such a large family
• Transportation to and from medical facilities
• Unexpected costs that come with fighting cancer
Our Faith and Our Hope
We believe deeply in the power of prayer and the strength of community. Our faith in God's healing powers remains unshaken, but we also know that God works through the generosity and compassion of others. That's where you come in.
How You Can Help
No amount is too small. Whether it's $5, $25, $100, or more, every single dollar will make a direct difference in Mariah's journey to healing. Your donation will help:
• Provide essential furniture and comfort items
• Cover medical expenses not handled by insurance
• Support the family during Tuesday's time away from work
• Ease the daily financial stress so they can focus on what matters most: Mariah's recovery
Can't donate? You can still help by:
• Sharing this campaign with your network
• Keeping Mariah and her family in your thoughts and prayers
• Sending words of encouragement
A Personal Thank You
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read Mariah's story. Thank you for your prayers, your shares, and your donations. This family has always been there for others, and now they need us to be there for them.
Mariah is a fighter. She's young, she's strong, and with your support and God's grace, we believe she can overcome this.
Please help us give Mariah the fighting chance she deserves.
