Two devastating accidents on the same day!
On August 21, 2020 Mariah went to work and parked her car on the street. At work and
unaware, 2 cars collided in a traffic accident
and totaled Mariahs parked car. Police
towed the vehicles that were blocking traffic, but left Mariah’s car at the scene leaving a
business card with an incident number on her
windshield. Several hours later Mariah gets
off work, walks to her car and is in shock of the damage. Mariah couldn’t get in her vehicle to
drive home. She attempted to cross the street to return to work, and was hit by a large truck going 40 mph. She was taken to the trauma
unit of Sharp Memorial Hospital with a broken pelvis in two spots, internal bleeding,
hematomas on her colon, fractured rib,
collapsed lung, torn tendons and ligaments in both knees, and road rash, cuts, and bruises
over 90 percent of her body. She is bed bound and unable to bear any weight or walk, further surgeries to reconstruct both knees will be
scheduled in the future to repair her knees
once she is strong enough. We are truly lucky she is alive today but the road to recovery and healing will be long!
