Hi! My name is Mariah, and I have been struggling with health issues lately. I have been going through the wringer trying to figure out a definitive diagnosis for me (we are thinking possibly lupus) and why I am having flare-ups often.
On Sunday, August 3rd, I ended up in the emergency room with under-rib pain. I ended up being hospitalized and needing an emergency lap chole to take my gallbladder out, which was filled with stones, inflamed, and had fluid surrounding it.
Typically, I work 3 jobs trying to pay for the needs of the kids and just our bills. Right now, with the pain after the surgery, and recommendation from my doctor, I will need at a minimum a few weeks out of work. On top of this financial burden, it is also the time of the year for school shopping for the kids. I do not know how I will be able to afford our normal bills, on top of the necessities for them to begin school… all while out of work.
I would be forever grateful for any shares or donations. As embarrassing as this is, if this is what I need to do to try to recover and still afford life, I will do whatever is necessary.
Thank you so much for reading.
I have yet to see exactly what my deductible will be for paying for the inpatient care that I received from my hospitalization date of 8/3 and the discharge date of 8/5. I expect at least 2,000 as this was emergency surgery and I was hospitalized on R4 - the surgical floor.
update 8/10: Just wanted to give an update, as of this week I went to the ER on Thursday night and was there overnight. They are saying this post operative pain I’m feeling is possibly a stomach ulcer - prescibed omeprazole and a stronger pain med with additional anti-nausea meds Although I disagree, they’ve sent an emergent referral to a GI doctor. On top of this, I fell directly onto my stomach and scars from the surgery yesterday (Saturday 8/9) I’m following up with my PCP on Tuesday because of how much pain I’ve been in as of the last few days and needing to be using my pains meds around the clock. I feel as if something was missed as I’m in more pain than I was in prior to my gallbladder removal. On top of this, our babysitter last minute told me (an hour ago) they can no longer help with our kids for the rest of the summer
so… there’s the update. We’re thriving.
