Help Mariah and Tyler - Carjacked at Gunpoint
Donation protected
On Thursday, Feb. 4, my daughter Mariah parked in our driveway and got out of her car. It was dark. Suddenly, a car pulled up and a man jumped out and ran at Mariah pointing a gun at her. She didn't hear what he said, but she screamed and tossed her keys in his direction. He started to get into her car but stopped and came at her again with the gun. She screamed at him and pleaded with him to "just take the car." He took the car, and spared her life.
We are all grateful that she and everyone in the house that night are physically unharmed. Mariah's instinct and courage saved her life, and continues to carry her through this difficult time, with lots of moral and emotional support from us, extended family, friends, and her employer.
Of course, we called the police. The Euclid police were fantastic. The car has not been found, nor do we expect it to be usable if it is.
No one ever *wants* to start a Gofundme. I'm starting one for Mariah to try and help her and Tyler (her partner) financially. Mariah and Tyler only had the car for about a month. They both have jobs. Mariah is also taking college classes on line, and both of them are trying so hard to get ahead. Unfortunately, their insurance didn't cover the theft. They still need to pay off the balance of the loan and somehow finance a new car. That's why I'm starting this Gofundme that no one ever wanted to have to start.
The amount is high - $15,000 - but truly any amount will help offset their costs.
Thanks for reading.
