Help Mariah and Twins Honor Pawpaw

Hey everyone, my name is Rhonda. I am creating this GoFundMe to help my daughter and my nephews be able to cremate their Pawpaw. Eric “Pony” Shelton passed away 01/02/2025. He LOVED and LIVED for his grandchildren! Anyone who knew him also knew he had a knack and passion for tree work. Pony came into my life back in 2001. He and my mother dated for approximately 11 years. Even after they split, he was still there for all the grandkids. Pony was a man who did not ask others for help when he was down and out. My heart is broken for my daughter Mariah, who is currently 6 months pregnant. My twin nephews learned everything they know about trees from their Pawpaw. In January 2024, Pony did a tree job and 2 days later suffered from a massive stroke that left him in the hospital and rehab for 3 months. I brought him home for 3 more months, then he had to go live at a nursing home. He was left-side paralyzed, and he hated it. He hated having to depend on anyone for just basic daily needs. He fought hard to be able to do more, and unfortunately, he wasn’t able to. Pony did not have any life insurance. So now, not only did my daughter and nephews lose their Pawpaw, but we also have to come up with the funds to cremate him. If you can donate, I thank you in advance. If you are unable to, please share this. We are just asking for help with basic cremation, no urns. The funeral home won’t do anything until we pay. I have tried to look for help, but because he passed in Marion County, Florida, and his body is now resting in Lake County, FL, there is no one to help us.
