Help Mariah & Her Family

My name is Stacy Lopez and I am the mother of Mariah Montanez. My daughter is 21 years old and one day had trouble breathing and went into the ER not knowing that the day she went in was going to be the beginning of a complicated painful journey. After studies being done on my daughter they determined she had a tumor near her heart and pulmonary embolisms. They continued testings on her and then diagnosed her with lymphoma cancer. My daughter was then transferred to temple for further care. While at temple things began to go downhill my daughter couldn’t breathe and so much happened. When she was stable they Decided to transfer her to Jefferson to begin the treatment for the cancer once they were done operating on the tumor. However during the surgery my daughter passed away and they resuscitated her. They then had her on a ventilator, gave her multiple blood transfusions and she was in the ICU in an induced coma. After so much pain suffering and not knowing if my daughter was going to make it she finally began to get stronger. My daughter is now out of the induced coma but she still has a tracheotomy tube in her throat. She is still at Jefferson and will be there for the next few months. They are giving her medicine to help shrink the tumor before operating as the risks are high. They are trying to get rid of the blood clots and when she is better and stronger they will try to begin chemotherapy. At this moment my heart is so Broken and my mind is all over the place. I am a single mother of two and it has been so hard for me to see my daughter in this situation and even harder that I am unable to be by her bedside all day and night because although my job may approve time off I do not have the time to cover the hours in order to get paid. Which is hard because I have my 14 year old son living with me and the bills in the household needs to get paid. Food needs to be put on the table and with Jefferson hospital only giving me two vouchers when they can it has been even harder paying for parking down town or train and bus rides back and forth. I want more than ever to be with my daughter to be by her side and I am asking for the support of my family friends and anyone who is able to help in anyway you can. Please anything will help as I am trying to be able to take time off of work and be able to survive and still provide for my son and household. Jefferson hospital is a good hospital but leaving my daughter alone and being at work is taking a toll on me physically and mentally. My heart is so broken and I am trying to be strong for my daughter but I cannot do this alone. My family have been helping in anyway that they can and I love them for that but I am desperate and at this point my family needs help. My daughter will be in the hospital for a few months and as of now they have not said how many exactly . She is still eating through a feeding tube and she is unable to talk. She is only able to shake her head no or yes and it breaks my heart because when I ask her if she’s being taken care of cleaned etc when I’m not there she shakes her head no and gets anxious. As a mother I am so broken and I need help because I want to be by her side. The nurses are doing the best they can but they cannot sit with her 24/7. When she is stronger and better they will begin physical therapy so she is able to learn how to walk and move again. They will also begin speech therapy to help her talk again and I know my daughter will be ok I have to believe she will be ok. I do not want to loose any time with her so I am asking From the bottom of my heart if you can help in anyway please help. My family will appreciate anything at this time. Any funds raised will go towards my rent food transportation so I am able to take the time off and be by her bedside.
