Help Mariachi Monarcas get a Harp

Mariachi Monarcas is a student led group based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This group was formed almost two years ago by students who have been trained for over eight years. The intention of forming this group was to keep us close to the rich Mexican culture through the beauty of mariachi music. Mariachi Monarcas currently provides musical services for public and private events around Wisconsin and the northern Illinois area. However, in order to bring the best quality of music to our audiences, we must acquire large amounts of money for instruments, uniform, equipment, etc. One of our personal goals with this mariachi, includes achieving a professional level, and to be able to perform all styles of mariachi. In order to achieve this, we have brought in our newest member, Rayden Vaughan Montes, to come into our group as a harpist.
Rayden Vaughan Montes is an 18-year-old musician currently studying Cello Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a freshman under the direction of Dr. Stefan Kartman. He performs in the UWM Symphony Orchestra and “Los Tokis”, a string quartet. He plans to continue his career in music through studying and performing cello at UWM. Being the newest member of Mariachi Monarcas de Milwaukee, he will be taking on the harp as his newest endeavor. Originally from El Paso, Texas, he found his love for music at the age of ten, when beginning to study cello and piano. In the same year, he was the first to be honored with the Reynaldo Kemp Award at Putnam Elementary School. He went on to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Coronado High School Orchestra in the summer of 2015.
After relocating to Milwaukee, he participated in WSMA Solo and Ensemble, receiving the highest ratings each year for solo performances. He was also hired by the Waukesha Civic Theater to perform in the orchestral pit for performances such as ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘Clue: The Musical’. At the end of his high school career he received the “Most Outstanding String Student” award for the 2017-2018 school year and received his diploma from Milwaukee High School of the Arts. He also graduated from the Cello Institute of Milwaukee in the same month after studying under Scott Cook and performing in the cello ensemble, I Cellisti.

Mariachi Monarcas es un grupo dirigido por estudiantes con sede en Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Este grupo se formó hace casi dos años por estudiantes que han recibido capacitación durante más de ocho años. La intención de formar este grupo era para mantenernos cerca de la rica cultura mexicana a través de la belleza de la música de mariachi. Mariachi Monarcas actualmente brinda servicios musicales para eventos públicos y privados alrededor de Wisconsin y el área del norte de Illinois. Sin embargo, para poder llevar la mejor calidad de música a nuestro público, debemos adquirir grandes cantidades de dinero para instrumentos, uniformes, equipo, etc. Uno de nuestros objetivos personales con este mariachi, incluye alcanzar un nivel profesional y poder incluir en nuestras presentaciones todos los estilos de mariachi. Para lograr esto, hemos traído a nuestro miembro más reciente, Rayden Vaughan Montes, para que ingrese a nuestro grupo como arpista.
Rayden Vaughan Montes es un músico de 18 años que estudia actualmente violonchelo en la Universidad de Wisconsin-Milwaukee como estudiante de primer año bajo la dirección del Dr. Stefan Kartman. Actúa en la Orquesta Sinfónica de la UWM y en "Los Tokis", un cuarteto de cuerdas. Planea continuar su carrera en la música estudiando y tocando cello en la UWM. Siendo el miembro más reciente de Mariachi Monarcas de Milwaukee, tomará el arpa como su nuevo esfuerzo. Originalmente de El Paso, Texas, encontró su amor por la música a la edad de diez años, cuando comenzó a estudiar cello y piano. En el mismo año, fue el primero en ser honrado con el Premio Reynaldo Kemp en la Escuela Primaria Putnam.
