I am saddened to say that the grandmother in need (Maria) that I have been working with for the past year and a half has just lost her oldest adult daughter to gun violence. This weekend was gun violence awareness weekend, and it is just so devastating to hear this news. Amidst all the other financial and health worries she has, Maria now needs to pay for funeral costs at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola (quoted $6,700), as well as care for her 6 year old grandson who just lost his mommy. My heart breaks for Maria and her family.

Maria has recently had so many unfortunate circumstances in her life, and she could certainly use your prayers, as well. I have started a GoFund me for her, and any extra money will go to the care of her grandson (food, etc.) and her two children. She often has immense difficulty paying utilities, so any extra help you are able to provide is so appreciated, especially in these incredibly difficult times for Maria.

**Maria has also asked if anyone might have an outfit she might be able to wear to the funeral (size 2XL shirt and 14 petite pants) , as she doesn’t have anything to wear and cannot afford to buy one. If you live locally, please let me know if you have anything.**
