Help Maria who fled war in Ukraine.

Good day everyone who is reading this message! It is my first time on this platform, and I am asking on behalf of a good friend. I have known Maria since she was 19, which is almost half of her life. Her life path is rough and thorny, but she kept this smile regardless. Nine years ago, she followed her heart to Ukraine, and since then, it is the second war she has been fleeing. Maria had to run from the war in Donbas in June 2014 and now - from Kyiv in March 2022. She rescued her dog who became an anchor in coping with depression after the first war, and she has never separated from him since.

My blood runs cold to imagine what she has to go through in a disturbing situation she found herself in. Unfortunately, she was still waiting for her residency status due to some circumstances with her immigration documents when the war in Ukraine started. And due to the fact of the Russian invasion, her case has been declined. She was able to evacuate to Poland by a miracle, just her and her dog. Maria does not qualify for any programs or humanitarian help and also faces some unpleasant attitudes. She is doing her best under the circumstances to survive but has run out of resources by now. I’m trying to bring her to the US and give her some comfort as she is emotionally and physically drained and overstressed. I wholeheartedly believe that Maria deserves a chance to rebuild her life here, in the US.
