Hello, my name is Jessica and with the family's permission I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my long-time friends, Martina Rico, Jose Torres, and the entire family of Maria (Mary) Esperansa Rico, who tragically lost her life on November 19, 2025.

Maria was such a beautiful human being that lighted up any room with her smile anywhere she went. She defeated all obstacles that doctors said she would not overcome at the time of her birth. Unfortunately, Mary, at such a young age of 24, was killed while sleeping in her bed by such a senseless crime. Our hearts are shattered and life will never be the same without her. Mary leaves behind her mother, father, siblings, grandparents, and many cousins.

I am asking on behalf of the family to help raise money for her final farewell as this devastating tragedy was so unexpected. No amount of money will lessen the heartbreak that this family is dealing with, but any amount will be greatly appreciated as they make preparations for their final goodbye. Funeral arrangements have not been made yet, but will be posted once that information is available. Thank you all in advance for your donations. May God bless you all!

Hola, mi nombre es Jessica y con el permiso de la familia estoy creando esta campaña de GoFundMe en nombre de mis amigos de toda la vida, Martina Rico, Jose Torres y la familia entera de María (Mary) Esperansa Rico, quien falleció trágicamente el 19 de Noviembre de 2025.

María era una persona maravillosa que iluminaba cualquier lugar con su sonrisa. Superó todos los obstáculos que los médicos le habían dicho que no podría vencer al nacer. Desafortunadamente, a la temprana edad de 24 años, María fue asesinada mientras dormía en su cama en un crimen sin sentido. Tenemos el corazón destrozado y la vida nunca será la misma sin ella. María deja atrás a su madre, padre, hermanos, abuelos y muchos primos.

Maria's homegoing service will be held at: Cremation Society of South Carolina located at 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville SC 29617.

Visitation: 12pm -2pm

Funeral Service: 2pm - 3pm

Graveside Service: 3pm -4pm
