Hi, I’m Maria:) after a lot of hesitation (and friends telling me I should), I’m finally making this GoFundMe.

Today, I found out my cars radiator fan needs to be replaced. The repair is $420. (I was going to avoid the AC BUT THEY told me that’s not how it works ) I’ve been able to gather $300, but I need help covering the rest. I’m also trying to stay ahead of another urgent bill for about $400.

I’ve been out of work for almost three months. I’m a caregiver for my mom. Her health is improving now slowly, thankfully, but at the time, it was worse. Emotionally, I was drowning, and I didn’t have the stability to navigate my job’s complex leave process. I also don’t think it’s right to have someone go through so much red tape when they think a family member is about to pass. It wasn’t that I didn’t care, it was that I couldn’t do it all at once while trying to hold everything together.

I only recently found out that I qualified for state assistance. No one at my job told me I could apply, which set me back weeks. I’ve now applied and am waiting for it to process. If and when it comes in, my hope is to pay people back who helped me during this time.

I never wanted to make one of these. I know there’s a lot going on. I just need a little breathing room to hopefully push through this last end. The car repair pushed me over the edge. I don’t want to fall further behind when I’ve been trying so hard to stay afloat.
