My name is Delia Castillo, I am a licensed social worker and a longtime friend of Maria Mejia. I’m reaching out to ask for your help in supporting someone who has selflessly supported so many of us.
You probably know Maria as the face of Concho Valley Turning Point, but chances are, you’ve also seen her lending a hand in countless ways across our community over the years. Whether volunteering at local events, helping neighbors in need, or simply being a friendly face you can count on, she has made a lasting impact on everyone around her.
Maria, like so many others, suffered a devastating loss when her home was inundated by more than four feet of water during the July 4th floods. While there is some insurance coverage for structural repairs, Maria recently learned that none of her personal belongings or household contents are covered. Everything from clothes and furniture to cherished keepsakes and daily essentials was lost.
Despite losing so much herself, Maria didn’t hesitate to step in and help others because that’s simply who she is. She’s been showing up for others since the very morning the flood occurred, and she hasn’t stopped. That’s just Maria: always giving, always serving, never asking for anything in return.
Now, it’s our turn to give back.
We’re asking for your help to support Maria as she rebuilds. Funds will go directly toward replacing essential items lost in the disaster, including:
• Clothing
• Refrigerator
• Stove
• Furniture
• Electronics
• Home necessities
Every dollar helps. Whether you can give $5 or $500, your generosity will directly support someone who truly deserves it. Please consider sharing this campaign, too.
Let’s rally together and help Maria rebuild what was lost. Thank you for your love, support, prayers, and kindness. ♥
