My name is Kyle. I’m a central Florida resident and I’m reaching out on behalf of my mother, Maria, who recently lost everything to the hurricanes that devastated Florida’s west coast, primarily Hurricane Milton.
Maria lived in the Central Florida area for decades before buying a humble forever townhome in New Port Richie, Florida. Although wheelchair bound, she loves spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and pampering her furry best friend, Dolly.
To make matters worse, Maria had recently invested her savings into home renovations and new appliances mere weeks before disaster struck.
Everything within her home was destroyed and the building itself left in a state of near disrepair.
Her time in a FEMA-funded hotel room is coming to an end this month as she scrambles to repair her home to the minimum standards the state requires to prevent its demolition.
The insurance payout was minuscule. Preventing demolition is imperative but rebuilding her home and life to what it once was is the goal.
Despite the physical challenges she faces, Maria is, and remains a resilient, independent, positive, and kind-hearted person. Now she needs help to rebuild her life and regain stability.
Funds will go towards repairing and rebuilding the home, and replacing essential furniture, appliances, and personal belongings.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will help my mother start over and find hope during this incredibly difficult time. Even sharing this campaign with others would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read my mother’s story. I sincerely thank all who are able and willing to help her rebuild.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kyle
