Help Maria O'Grady fight Breast Cancer

Hi Everyone,

As some of you may know, Maria O'Grady was diagnosed with Stage 2, Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on November 11, 2022, and due to the aggressiveness of this breast cancer, she will be starting chemotherapy as soon as possible.

Like many of you, I have been in a state of disbelief and sadness.

My name is Tiffany and I have had the pleasure of living across from Maria for almost 6 years now. Truth be told, we didn't know each other until covid struck. In an effort to have some type of human interaction, Maria and I found ourselves sitting on our front lawns daily and finally struck up the courage to introduce ourselves. Slowly, our bond formed.

We started hiking together regularly and began planning trips together. Over these past couple of years, Maria has gone from neighbor and friend to what I consider, family. I would do anything for her. I think we all know how easy it is to fall in love with Maria. Her smile, laughter, and light-hearted outlook on life give us that breath of fresh air we all crave.

With no surprise, she captivated the heart of Rob Wirtz and on June 30th, Maria finally let Rob put a ring on it. If you've seen these two together, you know what true soulmates look like. They are this dynamic duo that constantly uplifts each other, laughs at each other's corny jokes, and always has something fun planned. If this isn't true love, I really don't know what is.

Their lives together were just getting started. From looking at wedding venues and planning bachelor/bachelorette parties to Rob trying to figure out how he could incorporate the Dallas Cowboys into their wedding vows, life was pretty good.

Unfortunately, they were struct with a diagnosis that has put a halt on everything. Thoughts of a wedding, children, and a home together are now overshadowed by doctors' appointments, medical bills, and the harsh reality of how chemo will impact Maria's body.

I never imagined myself writing something like this, no one does...

We all have a positive outlook for Maria. If you have been personally impacted by cancer, know someone who has been impacted by cancer, or would like to be a part of Maria's journey, your contributions would truly make the world of a difference!

I personally want to make sure that once this is all said and done, we throw these two the biggest wedding imaginable! I hope this experience becomes a story about resilience and how gracefully Maria is handling all of this. You are a strong woman.

Maria, you are unlike any other, and we are all so privileged to have you in our lives. I couldn't imagine a life without you in it. We are all here for you, Rob, and your family. We love you so very much!
