Help Maria Obtain Life-saving Infusions

Donation protected

My mother has been fighting for her life for the last couple of years as she has been battling a plethora of health issues that are slowly shutting down her body. She has been ill on and of for decades but has continued to press on in life to care for her family…now it is our turn to care for her. Four years ago, this month, she was finally diagnosed with a rare disease. My mother has CVID (Common Variable Immuno Deficiency), which is a rare genetic primary immune disease. There is no cure; however, in order to keep her alive, she must do weekly infusions of immunogammaglobulin replacement therapy (IRT). These are antibodies that her body does not make nor replace and are derived from plasma donations. The cost of these infusions weekly is over $9,000, which has a colossal copay due to it being a prescription. Unfortunately, over the past few months, she has not been able to afford her infusions or other medications despite having sold practically everything and even her house. Her health continues to decline rapidly. My mother has given me an incredible life despite her being 100% deaf and being so sick that she can barely get out of bed most days. She has sacrificed everything for me, a United States Marine Corps Veteran, to lead a happy and fulfilled life. It breaks my heart to see her in the condition that she is in and knowing that there is nothing I can do but watch her slowly fade away. I am respectfully requesting donations to help provide this life-saving medication for her, so I can enjoy more time with her before she leaves our family. The sacrifices I made in the military are nothing compared to what she has done for me throughout my short life, and I just hope and pray that you find it in your heart to help us pay for the medication. Thank you so very much for your thoughts.

She is my sister and my friend. Aunt to my children. Wife and daughter. We love her. She is always smiling and doing kind things for others. Always asks first, "How are you doing?" instead of waiting for you to ask about her. She even saved my life in a family car wreck when we were young. She pulled my head into her lap right before it would have smashed through the side window and instead took the blow to her head suffering a neck injury. That is her intuitive reaction...others first... I would like in turn to help save her life. We would appreciate any size donation you could make. Our hearts are enlarged with your generosity. Thank you in advance for your help!
