Maria has been both a dear friend and a house-help to my family for the past couple of years. She has faced more than her share of hardship, having lost her husband long ago and raising her son, Jamie, on her own with help from her daughter. Through his long illness, Maria never wavered in her love and care, by working multiple jobs while caring for him with faith and dignity. Jamie, just shy of 50, recently passed away, leaving her with a sorrow no parent should ever have to bear.

Now, Maria is facing the heartbreaking reality, finding it extremely difficult to afford the funeral expenses. Her greatest wish is to lay Jamie to rest in their homeland of El Salvador, surrounded by family and the memories of his childhood. Without our help, Maria faces more hardships covering expenses for this as well as the medical bills.
