Today, my life changed forever. My apartment in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas exploded, leaving my home and everything I own in ruins. I have two children, and together we have lost all of our belongings—clothes, shoes, appliances, and irreplaceable family heirlooms. The baby photos of my children and the pictures of my late father are gone. Most of all, we are now homeless, and I am struggling to figure out what to do next. I was just discharged from the hospital after being treated for burns on my arms. The shock and pain are still fresh, but I know I have to keep going for my kids.

Right now, we need help with temporary housing, food, and transportation. My children need clothes and shoes, and we have to start from scratch to rebuild our lives. I am reaching out to anyone who can help, no matter how small the contribution. Even five dollars can make a difference for us right now. I know times are tough for everyone, and it’s hard to ask for help, but I have no other option. I want to be strong for my children, even though I am falling apart inside.
