If you know our co-worker and friend Maria, you know she is the person who shows up for her family, for her friends, and for her job. She is a devoted mother and grandmother who has spent her life putting others first, working tireless hours, and going above and beyond every single day. She isn’t just a hard worker; she’s a person who comes in early, stays late, takes the extra work, bakes and cooks for extra money, and rarely, if ever, misses a day of work. Her reliability is her trademark.

This past year, life hit hard. Maria faced the heartbreaking loss of her brother and had to travel out of the country for his funeral. It was a necessary journey of love and grief, but the travel expenses and the time away from work created a financial ripple effect that has now become a tidal wave.

Maria, a devoted daughter, is nursing her mother who has cancer back to health during her off hours. Despite her best efforts to catch up, the math simply hasn’t worked in her favor. Today, Maria is facing a double crisis that no one who works this hard should have to endure: her car has been repossessed and she is behind on rent. The threat of losing her home is looming, and the stress of potentially being displaced is overwhelming without her vehicle.

The very thing she uses to get to the job she loves and is amazing at is gone.

Maria is the sole driver for her household and needs the car for more than work. We are asking for your support to help Maria regain her stability. She is someone who would never ask for help herself. She’s too busy trying to figure out how to help everyone else.
