Help Maria Feel Safe, Seen & Supported
Earlier today, my friend Jasmine and I were biking when we saw Maria—she was laying on the sidewalk, crying. We stopped, sat with her, and listened to her story. She shared that she lost her home during a financial crisis and has been unhoused ever since. Her daughter passed away in her 30s, and since then, Maria’s been on her own—trying to survive and hold on to hope.
She’s currently working with some organizations to get back into housing, but the process takes time. In the meantime, she’s on the streets—vulnerable, scared, and deeply exhausted. When we found her, she told us she didn’t want to be here anymore.
We prayed with her, reminded her that she’s not forgotten, and told her that people do care. Her face changed. Hope came back into her eyes.
Now we’re asking for your help to keep that hope alive.
Your donation will go toward:
• A few nights in a hotel so Maria can feel safe while she waits for housing support
• Basic essentials like a bra, clean clothes, and hygiene items
• Food and other immediate needs to restore her comfort and dignity
Even a small gift can make a huge difference. Your generosity can remind Maria that she is loved, that she matters, and that her story isn’t over yet.
Thank you for helping us surround Maria with compassion, care, and the safety she deserves.
