My name is Maria, and earlier this year, my world was turned upside down. In February, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Just seven days after receiving the news, I lost my job. On top of that, I am starting over after a long relationship ended, and I care for my three children on the weekends. My ex-partner of 22 years has not helped me with anything, which has made this time even more challenging as I work to rebuild my life.

The bills are adding up quickly—medical expenses, everyday living costs, and now my car needs repairs so I can get to my treatments. I’m doing everything I can to keep things together for my kids, and I’m hoping to give them a special Christmas despite everything we’re facing.
