Help Maria Elena's Survive In These Hard Times

A piece of Alviso history is in danger of disappearing. In 1988 Maria Elena Montellano took over her parents restaurant at 1450 Gold street in Alviso Ca. Maria was a big part of the community, she loved helping out where ever she was needed. She gave the kids of Alviso a safe place to go after school, where they could get a free meal before going home. Sadly she passed away in June of 2010. Her 2 daughters took over the restaurant and continued in their moms foot steps. Without the support and help of their Tia, family members, staff and customers that wouldn’t of been possible. 

It has been a challenging 10 years but the family always got through the obstacles thrown their way. Since the outbreak of Covid-19 though Maria Elena’s like most restaurants, has suffered significantly and is in danger of closing its doors permanently. We have been doing everything in our power to generate funds and tried to get assistance, but as you’ve seen on the news, like many independent restaurants, we did not receive any help from the PPP loan. Having to close our doors permanently is a daily fear.

This campaign is to help with paying the hours we owe our employees, paying utilities and buying goods to help us reopen.
