Hey all, My name is Julio Morales, and I am fundraising for my aunt Maria Elena Quintero Lopez. She lives back home in Venezuela and was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

This is her story in her own words:

¡Hola! mi nombre es María Elena Quintero López, tengo 66 años, vivo en Maracay - Venezuela. Soy viuda y en los últimos años he vivido situaciones difíciles (pérdida de familiares cercanos, entre otras); a pesar de ello y con la confianza en Dios, he podido mantener a flote a mi familia.

Hasta hace muy poco fui una persona sana, activa. Hace apenas cuatro meses presenté dolor en el epigastrio; acudí al médico especialista (gastroenterólogo) y luego del examen físico, consideró necesario realizar una endoscopia. El resultado evidenció gastroduodenitis con sangrado activo, lo cual ameritó la toma de muestra para biopsia; al mismo tiempo, se realizó Tomografía Abdominal de doble contraste, la cual arrojó lesión de aspecto sólido en la cabeza del páncreas; por lo que se hizo la consulta con el Cirujano Oncólogo, quien está a la espera del resultado de la biopsia del duodeno para decidir tratamiento y muy posible intervención quirúrgica.

Hoy acudo a tu buen corazón para tener la oportunidad de costear los gastos que implican, tanto la operación como el tratamiento posterior, es decir, sesiones de quimioterapia, medicinas, alimentación, consultas, exámenes especiales. Mucho sabré agradecer la ayuda conómica que me puedas brindar. Desde ya te bendigo, le pido al Altísimo que nunca falte el pan sobre tu mesa y te expreso, de corazón, mi gratitud infinita.

Hello! My name is María Elena Quintero López; I am 66 years old and live in Maracay - Venezuela. I am a widow, and in recent years, I have experienced difficult situations (loss of close relatives, among others); Despite these struggles and trusting in God, I have been able to keep my family afloat.

Until very recently, I was a healthy and active person, but four months ago, I presented pain in the epigastrium; I went to the specialist (gastroenterologist), and after the physical examination, he considered it necessary to perform an endoscopy. The result showed gastroduodenitis with active bleeding, which required taking a biopsy sample. At the same time, a double-contrast Abdominal Tomography was performed, which showed a solid-looking lesion in the head of the pancreas. For this reason, a consultation was made with the Oncologist, who is awaiting the result of the pancreas biopsy to make decisions about treatment and a possible surgical intervention.

Today, I plea to your giving heart the opportunity to cover the expenses for the operation and the subsequent treatment, including chemo sessions, medicine, food, consultations, and special tests.
