Help Maria buy a house

Hello,

Maria has worked for our family for more than fifteen years. She is an incredibly conscientious and industrious woman, and I have recommended her to numerous friends, many of whom she continues to work for on a weekly basis. I have met her children, and kvelled (oohed and ahed!) over her recent grandchild. I sat with her after her father died a number of years ago, and again, just a few months ago, after her mother died. She unfortunately had not seen her in over a decade. Maria's story is a similar one to many in this country: extremely hard-working people who come to the US hoping to make lives better for their families, and especially for their children. Maria has watched my own children grow up, and has been a great comfort to me at various times in my life. We all care a great deal for her.

Today she came to me and asked for some help with putting together a down-payment on a house. I know what a huge request this was because I know how proud a woman she is. I also know that she will do anything to take care of her family. She has been wanting to own a house for a very long time, and has been saving money for years, and has managed to come up with more than half of the down-payment. She still needs to raise more in order to close on her house in the middle of January 2022.

Chris and I would like to do whatever we can to help her, and are starting this GoFundMe with the hope of raising at least part of what she needs, and lending her the rest with no interest. We could really use some help. 'Tis the season... and what greater gift is there. Together, as a community, let's help make Maria's dreams for her family come true.
