My name is Maria Simpson, and I am a teacher and parent at Raleigh Oak Charter School. I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Romance Languages, and I will be stepping into a new role teaching Upper School Spanish and supporting the Spanish curriculum beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.
I have been accepted into the Sunbridge Institute World Language Teacher Program, an opportunity that will deeply enrich my preparation as a world language educator. This program aligns beautifully with my graduate studies and will provide specialized training in language instruction, curriculum development, and immersive teaching practices that I can bring directly into my classroom.
My goal is to bring the highest quality Spanish instruction to our 5th–8th grade students at Raleigh Oak Charter School. I want my classroom to be a place where students not only learn a new language, but also gain confidence, cultural understanding, and a lifelong appreciation for communication across cultures.
I am seeking support to help cover the costs of tuition, program fees, travel, and related expenses for this training. As an educator, I am committed to continually growing in my practice so that I can offer my students the strongest possible learning experience—but opportunities for advanced professional development like this are a significant financial investment.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will directly support my ability to complete this program and bring enhanced language learning opportunities back to my students. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign would also mean so much.
Thank you for supporting me in this next step of my journey as an educator. I am deeply grateful for your encouragement and generosity.
