Guadalupe River Flood Relief: Let’s Show Up for Our Texas Family

Hello everyone,

We are the Phoenix 2 Project, a group of nine transformational leaders from across the country committed to creating real impact where it’s needed most. My name is Ryan Kuhnert, and I’m writing from Excelsior Springs, Missouri.

While we wish we could be on the ground in Texas, we’re showing up in the way we can: by rallying our communities to support those devastated by the recent flooding along the Guadalupe River.

One of those affected is our dear friend and sister, Maria Camila. We connected with Maria in a WhatsApp group created to support victims of the Texas floods. Her story immediately struck our hearts. She had lost everything.

Maria is the founder of The Hive, a nonprofit healing space in Liberty Hill, Texas, that has served countless veterans, children, and trauma survivors. On the morning of July 4, a flash flood overtook the property, destroying multiple homes, HVAC systems, essential equipment, and all personal belongings. Maria and several families are now displaced, facing a long and painful recovery.

We feel called to help. We can and we will.

We’ve launched this campaign to provide immediate, meaningful relief:

50 percent of all donations will go directly to Maria to help her recover, secure temporary housing, and begin rebuilding The Hive, a sanctuary that has brought healing and hope to so many.

The remaining 50 percent will support other flood victims in Kerr County through the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, a trusted local nonprofit supporting recovery efforts.

Emergency shelter, food, and clean water

Cleaning supplies and repair tools

Volunteer support for cleanup and rebuilding

Long-term aid for uninsured and under-resourced families
