Help Maria and her family get back on their feet!

Hi, My name is Terri Miller. Three days ago, a fire broke out in the rear unit of a duplex one block from my house. Maria, Julio, and their two boys—ages three and six—not only lost their home but also most of their possessions. They had no renters insurance.

I never met Maria until the day after the fire. As I walked by her former home with a friend and our dogs, Maria sat in her driveway with tears in her eyes as she watched her two boys play in front of their burnt out home surrounded by what few belonging were spared.

Sonoma is a community that steps up when someone needs help so my friend, Julie and I immediately went into action mode to offer assistance to Maria and her family. Maria and Julio need to find affordable housing for their family, something in short supply in Sonoma, CA. They must also obtain furnishings, clothing, kids items and other life necessities that were all lost in the blaze, the cause of which is still under investigation.
