Help Mari start a new life in the US!
Donation protected
Hey all, it's Gabe.
Mari just got approved for humanitarian parole!
This means that she will be relocating to Philadelphia in November and stay here for the next couple of years. We need your support to get her up on her feet.
Your donations will cover:
-Further legal representation (bureaucratic expenses)
-Rent for the first couple of months
-Winter clothes
-Basic utilities
-Travel and relocation expenses
Humanitarian Parole is granted to a foreign national (who is otherwise inadmissible) to temporarily enter the United States due to an emergency and urgent humanitarian reason or significant public benefit. Since 2018, the United States has approved 128,000 humanitarian parole cases for Nicaraguans to move to the US. Nicaraguans are also the largest population that is requesting asylum in the United States with over 111,000 requests in 2022.
Other ways you can help:
-Drop by and visit!
-Invite Mari for a cup of coffee!
I have been living in Philadelphia since 2019, but I am moving to Mexico in early 2024. Eventually Mari will be able to apply for a work visa and will build her new temporary life here in Philly (until things get better in Nicaragua)
