Help Margaret's Family Stay Safe and Housed

My name is Jill and I’ve started this GoFundMe for my sister Margaret and her 2 teenage sons (as well as their cat, Loki). Her oldest son graduated high school last year and is currently going to junior college, while her youngest son is a sophomore in high school.

They are facing eviction from their current residence of the last 5+ years as they’re unable to pay the proposed high rent. It’s not your typical situation as a relative of theirs is the owner and has let them stay there rent free with the understanding that they had 2 more years to stay until the youngest son graduated high school. However, with little notice, that is no longer the case as a rental management company has been hired by the owner to take care of the property. Margaret has many medical issues which have made it difficult to work as she is in chronic pain from rheumatoid arthritis and multiple autoimmune disorders as well as fibromyalgia along with other ailments.

In addition to ongoing medical issues, the past 10+ years have been especially difficult for their family due to the many challenges they've faced. I realize that is a vague statement, but I’m including it for context in that they have tried to do the best they can with the resources they have and help from family and friends in various ways for quite some time. It’s difficult to reach out in this manner, but honestly, I am desperate to help them with any funds for either staying in this place for as long as they can and/or finding a new place to rent. I know many other people are facing worse circumstances, therefore, taking this step to ask for help from those we know and those we don’t know was not taken lightly. Every little bit helps and every day that we can keep them in their current residence is helpful to continue to research other options and provide time to solidify other living arrangements.
