Help Margaret Remove Her Pelvic Mesh Implant

Hello everyone,

 

Please help us raise funds for Margaret’s pelvis mesh removal.

 

Margaret is a 47-year-old mother of 3.  She loves to laugh, meet with friends, exercise, take part in marathons and spend time with her children. To say that she is a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and friend would be an understatement.  She is a caregiver by profession and will go out of her way to help those in need.

 

In 2013, following the advice of medical professionals, Margaret received the pelvic mesh implant. What was supposed to help her and allow her to continue her life without any issues has cost her more than you can imagine.

 

Like thousands of women worldwide, Margaret suffered from the complications from this procedure as this mesh has now broken apart in her body which can and will attack her organs if it is not removed. Her physical health has been affected to the point where she can no longer exercise without pain. She can no longer run in those marathons or even have a relationship. Her work life has also been affected as she can no longer carry out her work in the nursing home and has now had to take work that requires no more than companionship. Furthermore, her mental health is deteriorating as she finds herself with this crippling feeling of loneliness due to the lack of supports out there for women like her who are going through this horrendous ordeal. She does not sleep without fear of what she might wake up to or what her future might look like.

 

So why doesn’t she just remove it? Margaret wishes it was that easy but the procedure to have it removed is not simple. In fact, it’s so complex that no doctor in this country is trained to carry it out. Margaret will have to travel to the United States of America to have this procedure and the costs are quite high. In total, the procedure will cost €25,000 including post-surgery care.

 

This 20-minute mesh implant procedure is now costing her life but we have seen the power of these campaigns that have saved so many people’s lives and we are asking you to please help us get Margaret the treatment so that she can reclaim her life and live it to her full potential.

 

If we raise the money for Margaret, we will not stop there. Any further money that is received will also go towards other women in Ireland who, like Margaret are suffering each day from the mesh implant.
