Hello family and friends. As most of you already know I was recently diagnosed with Stage-4 Rectal Cancer. This really shocked me and my family as we were not expecting to hear the word cancer from my test results. Let me tell you a bit more about my resent medical diagnosis. In September of 2022, I started to experience some discomfort that made me believe I had hemorrhoids. I believed that it would pass with time and rest. Well time passed, I didn’t really rest, and it didn’t get any better. When the pain was not controlled by Tylenol the pain quickly became unbearable and debilitating. I just undure the pain and keep on living life as we all do with work, family and of course my sweet grandson. Oh lets not to forget my fur babies. Fast forward to February 16, 2023. That morning I woke up feeling really weak, tired and just not well at all. I went to the emergency room in Encino and was admitted to the hospital for about 6 days. The ER doctor said if I had waited another 2-3 days my outcome would have been worse. I had a high fever along with a really bad infection due to the tumor. While I was hospitalized a colonscopy and biopsy of the tumor was done. The results from those two procedures reveal that it was not hemorrhoids but a huge tumor which was causing all my discomfort and symptons that I've been expericing all that time. After countless of follow up appointments and procedures such as another biopsy, CT scan, MRI and rounds of bloodwork. It was confirmed, it's Stage 4 Rectal Cancer. Two weeks ago I started my journey to fight this cancer. I had to get a Colostomy. My surgeon and oncologist had adviced me that during my treatments my immune system will become a bit weak and in order to avoid major infections or complications it had to get done. I'm feeling angry, confused and anxious due to this major lifestyle change I have to live with. So the plan is, over the course of the next several months, I will be undergoing treatments with the hope of shrinking the tumor enough for it to be surgically remove. The medical plan that my doctors have for me is to attack this tumor aggressively!. Becasue of this my Radiation Therapy will be intensive and I will be getting Radiation Therapy almost everyday for the next 6 weeks along with Chemotherapy every 3-4 weeks due to the resent biopsy results. After said treatment I will have to go through all the previous test again biopsy, CT scan, MRI and bloodwork. To see if the Radiation and Chemotherapy are working according to plan. I just want to be really open with you all, making this gofundme is not something I ever though I would have to do. I have spend my entire life working supporting myself, daugther, family and in times I have also help many others in need. So here I am asking for a little help from you. To help me with some of my daily cost, as I will not be working during this treatments. Anything that can be donated is so very much appreciated. All proceeds will go towards allowing me to focus more on my recovery and heailing. Although I had continued to work full time till recently. I have limited in savings to cover this unexpected life event. Despite all of this, I am remaining as positive and optimistic as possible. My doctor has told me that the survival rate for rectal cancer is very high and I can continue to enjoy life with my love ones once this is over. I'm grateful to any of you who are able to donate finacially, emotionaly and in prayers.
