Marea Alta Reads!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Fernando Calderon. With some help from my dad, I have started a charity to help a Salvadorian community better themselves through education and literature. As Salvadorians, we know firsthand how important education is in order to prosper in and out of El Salvador.
Marea Alta is a community centre that supports over 2,000 families in rural El Salvador. The Marea Alta library consists of only approximately 125 books as of now. The centre is a place where people can come to learn English and take educational courses. Adults and children both strive to learn English at the modest Marea Alta centre. English provides opportunities for these kids and adults to have better futures.
The efforts put forth by the community are very impressive but these families need your help in order to grow their library. Growing the Marea Alta library will provide these people with more opportunities in their futures. We have partnered up with North Vancouver schools to help Marea Alta. Eastview Elementary, Braemar Elementary, Carisbrooke Elementary, and Sherwood Park Elementary have generously donated hundreds of books specifically for Marea Alta. Your donations would help us ship the hundreds of books that we have collected straight to their community.
Thank you so much for helping Marea Alta read!
