Support Marcus Through His Life-Saving Transplant

Hi, I’m Danae, Marcus’ sister-in-law, and I’m reaching out to you with a heartfelt request. Since his teenage years, Marcus has fought against a devastating disease called granulomatosis with polyangiitis, which causes his body to attack itself. Over the years, we’ve done everything we could to slow the progression of this debilitating condition, but there’s always been little hope of reversing its impact. However, thanks to medical advancements, Marcus is now eligible for a life-changing kidney transplant. While this transplant offers a new chance for his future, it also means he will be unable to work and provide for himself during the months of recovery. We’re asking for your support to help him through this challenging time as he takes this crucial step toward better health.

Diagnosed with granulomatosis with polyangiitis at just 15 years old, Marcus has known that his kidneys failing was a matter of “when,” not “if.” Formerly known as Wegener’s granulomatosis, granulomatosis with polyangiitis is a rare disease that causes inflammation to the blood vessels in various systems throughout the body. Marcus has endured a range of challenging symptoms, including muscular atrophy, chronic sinus infections, swelling, high blood pressure, and more.

From adolescence, Marcus’ medical journey has been a revolving door of specialists, medications, and hospital visits. His incredible brother, Jonathon, is stepping up as a kidney donor and kicking off a donation chain that will provide Marcus with the kidney he so desperately needs.

The transplant will take Marcus out of work for around two months as he focuses on recovery. Your donations will help cover essential living costs like rent, groceries, and utilities, allowing Marcus to rest and heal without worrying about finances.
