Heyyo and hello!

My name is Marcus Davis.

A while back around COVID's beginning stages, I was ditched in an unfamiliar college town after my girlfriend of well over two years had hurtfully cheated on me while we were both fighting and working to hold a place. Since then, I've been trying to get my life back together for the past 5 years, working various jobs while things have gradually declined and grown more expensive. But my visual issues are just concerning enough with my glaucoma to cause complications in several hiring procedures as I can't fully see out of my right eye. That, coupled with few job opportunities that accept my situation while also providing enough compensation to earn a livable wage has made things exceedingly difficult to make a thrive, let alone survive and keep rent coming in to stay away from living in my car again.

I've been taking various jobs I can find as they come in: Side work like yards and housework for various local people, temp jobs, DoorDash and UberEats in nearby towns, and I have been trying to develop my pet care/sitting profile on Rover for several years to make ends meet, but it's only letting me barely scrape by, and it's getting tighter and tougher every time, especially with my recent lay off.

I want to be able to chase and re-find my happiest self again, or make a place where I can create that spark anew.

So now, I am swallowing my pride after struggling so long and am going to ask for help from anyone safely able to give their support while I attempt rebuild myself and my career. I only want to ask for help from those who are able to do so and NOT put themselves at any risk afterwards, as I'll only feel worse if someone has to inconvenience themselves as I fight to succeed. My goal of $880 is the cost of two months worth of rent where I am, $440 USD each, so I made this goal to help earn support while I work on my resume and find some job coaching... all while I plan to get myself back up and running out of increasingly severe depression and search outward to put my best foot forward. I want to seek work and become a functioning member of society that can support himself again.
