Help Marcus Reach the Mayo Clinic
Donation protected
Friends,
We are reaching out to you with an urgent plea for help on behalf of Gregory Mark (Marcus) Wells, who has been fighting for his life at St. Luke's Boise for over a month. Marcus is currently undergoing constant blood transfusions and has received an astonishing 46 units of blood. He is battling two extremely rare diseases: Severe Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HOCM) and Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA).
The incredible team of doctors at St. Luke's, along with specialists from the top medical institutions in Idaho and New York, have been tirelessly working to keep him alive. They are using special drips and continuous blood transfusions to combat the relentless destruction of his red blood cells caused by AIHA. In fact, a recent convention of doctors from New York reviewed Marcus’s case and stated they have never encountered a case as rare as his.
Thanks to their efforts, Marcus has been accepted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota—one of the best places for his condition. However, red tape is currently preventing the necessary funds for his medical flight from St. Luke's to the Mayo Clinic. He was scheduled to fly at 2:00 AM last night, but the funding for the flight was not approved in time. Marcus is running out of options and time; he has already exceeded the limits of transfusions that a human body can endure.
The estimated cost for a medical flight is approximately $41,500. We urgently need your help to cover this expense and get Marcus the specialized care he desperately needs.
Please consider donating to help save Marcus’s life. Every moment counts, and your generosity could make all the difference in his fight for survival.
Thank you for your support and for helping us get Marcus to the Mayo Clinic where he has the best chance at a cure.
With gratitude,
Bob Kurz
