Marcus is a close friend who has shown incredible determination in rebuilding his life after a period of homelessness. When he had nowhere else to go, Marcus stayed with me while working multiple jobs—delivering pizzas, power-washing, and taking on handyman work—so he could save enough to buy a home for his wife and four children. He found a place in a mobile home park and, piece by piece, remodeled it himself until it was ready for his family to move in. His dedication and work ethic have always inspired me, and he’s never stopped striving to provide a safe and stable home for his loved ones.

Recently, Marcus took a big step by launching his own independent contracting business, purchasing two pickup trucks to offer snow removal and handyman services. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen financial hardship and weather conditions, the job opportunities he counted on haven’t come through. As a result, Marcus has fallen behind on lot rent and needs to finish paying the security deposit, last month’s rent, and the upcoming January rent. Despite his best efforts and the progress he’s made, he’s still facing a tight deadline to keep his home.
