Help Marcus get his sight back
Donación protegida
Hey all, on November 8, 2022 Marcus (Maddox’s Dad) was out on a job site fixing some fence that was down from a storm that had passed through a few days prior. He was working by himself when the incident happened.
He was mending barbwire fence and went to cut a piece of barbwire off the spoil and when he did the tension from the wire snapped back and caught him in his right eye. The impact cut his eye directly causing a 3mm laceration. He was working out of town when this happened so he called an ambulance and was transported to the local hospital in hopes of saving his eye.
Upon arriving at the hospitals trama unit the Dr’s deemed it necessary to transport him back to the Dfw metroplex in hopes of having a better facility and Dr’s to try and repair his eye.
He spent several days in the hospital after surgery and they were able to stitch his eye back together with 6 sutures, but his vision was lost. We’re still unsure as to the outcome of him ever getting vision back but we’re hopeful with a few more procedures that he will be able to regain some sight in that eye.
Since the incident, he has had the stitches removed but with no improvements. He has seen a retina specialist, which determined that no permanent damage was done to the retina, So some good news there.. Next step is going to be possibly cataract surgery to hopefully clear some of the haze and scaring that occurred. And if that doesn’t help then he will need a Cornea and Lens transplant.
He has a very long road ahead of him with no guarantees which make this situation so tough. Due to all of this, he hasn’t been able to work and has a mountain off medical bills and not to mention future expenses he will have due to all the upcoming surgeries.
Just in hospital and transport bills alone Marcus has nearly $70,000 that needs to be paid and that’s not everything.
He’s definitely not one to ask for help from ann and anyone who knows Marcus knows he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. So, I know he would be forever grateful for not only the prayers but the donations to help him keep things afloat till he’s cleared.
I will make sure to post updates as I receive them and appreciate every one of you!
